PDO threads are a quick, minimally invasive and no-downtime alternative to non-surgical facelifts, skin smoothening and tightening. PDO threads are made from an absorbable polymer, which is smooth, flexible and durable. When inserted into the sub-dermis, the PDO threads promote new collagen and become a support structure.
PDO threads activate collagen synthesis therefore producing skin tightening, gradual skin thickening and rejuvenation. Over time, the PDO threads are absorbed by the body. We use a combination of mono threads (tightening) and double screw threads (volumising) to achieve the best outcome for clients. We recommend combining PDO threads with dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections for a complete non-surgical facelift and rejuvenation.

PDO threads will create a tightening effect gradually. Results generally last for 6-12 months. Immediately after treatment, there will be a small noticeable result however typically noticeable results are from 2-6 weeks and will continue to improve over 2 to 6 months. Annual treatments are recommended to maintain optimal results.
The downtime with PDO threads are minimal, although like with any treatment we recommend avoiding choosing a close date prior to an event.
PDO threads can only be inserted by trained Doctors or Nurses. All of our My Botique team have been expertly trained in PDO threads and will tailor a treatment plan in line with your areas of concerns and goals.
PDO thread complications are extremely rare. Minor risks and expected outcomes include bruising, swelling, redness and tenderness around the treated area which typically resolve within a week. Major risks include infection and hypersensitivity, although these are extremely rare.
Refrain from makeup, heavy exercise, sun exposure and lying face down post-treatment. Avoid dental work and high impact sports for 2 weeks.
To ensure you are happy with your PDO thread treatment and that optimal results are achieved, we recommend you attend a follow-up appointment after two weeks and review at 12 weeks.
