Bio-Liogical Zinc Solution contains Zinc sulfate. This dose of Zinc is in a convenient liquid form and packaged in a tamper proof bottle. This product comes with a graduated dropper.

To be used for the treatment of Zinc deficiency. Taken orally this product may provide relief from the symptoms of cold sores and sore throats. May assist in skin repair including the healing of burns and wounds and acne.

Scientists first discovered Zinc was an essential nutrient for the growth of living organisms in 1869.
However, it was not until the early 1960’s that it was discovered that Zinc deficiency was a causative factor in delayed sexual development and stunted growth in men. Since then researchers have found it to be essential for the normal function of over 100
enzyme systems in the body (3) .

The highest concentration of Zinc is found in the eye, optic nerve and skin. It is also present in significant concentration in the adrenal glands, bone, brain, heart, kidneys, lungs, muscles, prostate gland, spleen and testes. A Zinc deficiency can therefore adversely affect a great number of different areas in the body.

Numerous trace element deficiencies exist in the soils around the Australian pastural region including Copper, Molybdenum, Selenium, Boron and Zinc. Further food processing may also remove Zinc.

Therefore, marginal or frank Zinc deficiency is not uncommon. Even a few days of maternal Zinc deficiency can lead to excess cell death in an embryo, with the neural crest cells being particularly sensitive.

Numerous studies have shown that Zinc sulfate is as well absorbed as other Zinc salts, including Zinc chelates.

A deficiency of vitamin B6, Copper, Nickel or Zinc may be associated with hypogeusia (loss of taste). In association with vitamin B6, vitamin C and Gamma linolenic acid, Zinc is an important stimulant of the immune system.

Oral Zinc sulfate may have an anti-diarrhoeal effect and is a useful supplement in supportive treatment for other infections. Supplementation with Zinc sulfate has been shown to help normalise thyroid function and decrease the incidence of infectious
diseases observed in Downs Syndrome.

Supplementation with Zinc sulfate has been shown to improve glucose tolerance in patients with cirrhosis. It is common to find Zinc deficiencies in patients with diabetes, menstrual irregularities and anorexia nervosa.
